County Longford Active Travel Strategy (September 2023)
Arup has been commissioned by Longford County Council to complete an Active Travel Strategy for County Longford in order to avail of National Transport Authority’s Active Travel Investment Programme.
The aim of this Strategy is to establish a strategic framework for the future development of active travel in the study area to support Longford County Council's ambition to establish Longford as a pioneering county for active travel by making active travel an attractive and realistic choice for short journeys.
The overall strategy presents an analysis of the current active travel context in County Longford. The opportunities and constraints associated with the overall land use, population and transport context are identified and are used to inform potential solutions to improve active travel usage in the county.
